Introducing Young Money Songtress “Shanell” With Brand New Music “So Good”

I bring you Shanell. Signed to Lil Wayne’s infamous Young Moneyin 2008. Born in California and back-up dancer for superstar Ne-Yo.

Check out this interview that took place earlier this year to get to know the songstress of the crew.

Shouts to for the info xx

Now Shanell is combining all of her talents, directing included, and is slowly becoming the next big artist to be rolled out by Young Money. Already an accomplished dancer, Shanell is getting ready to release her debut album, which is set to hit shelves soon. With the combination of charm, sexiness and a voice that will rock your speakers, Shanell looks to be the next platinum artist in the stream of Young Money successes.

Did you find it hard to transition from a dancer to a singer?
Yea, it was a little difficult. The main problem was having all of the attention focused on you while on stage. You all of a sudden become the main focus of everyone at the concert. When I was performing with Ne-Yo, you know, he was the main focus. I was just supposed to be in the back as a dancer while we gave him the space he needed on stage. In 2008, when I started working with Wayne, he had to tell me to get out on the stage. He would be like, “Get up here!” and motion for me to move up. It took a little while for me to adjust to that. It was still all a little weird. Now I am so used to it, Wayne is like, “Hey! Hey! This is my song. Move back!” (laughs), but it’s all good.

What is your stage chemistry like with Wayne? You guys seem to have a lot of fun up there and perform with such ease.
It’s just really cool and natural. We are a bit different though, which I think helps our musical relationship. Since I come from a theatre background, I need to rehearse a lot in order to feel comfortable. It’s just the world I come from. I need to come in with a full band, the dancers and the stage personnel to get ready. However Wayne doesn’t really like to rehearse. He just comes in, runs the show once, then is immediately back in the studio. He likes to perform naturally, whereas, I need to know what is coming next and where I have to be. It’s just two different perspectives. It’s good though and it works. It actually makes sense in a strange way.

Since we are on the topic of Wayne, what was it like meeting him when you first signed to Young Money. We all have heard stories about Drake meeting Wayne while he (Wayne) was getting a tattoo. Was it a crazy day like that for you as well?
Actually, no not at all (laughs). It was pretty much a normal day. We were both on tour with Ne-Yo at that time. He was an opening act at the time and I was his (Ne-Yo’s) backup dancer. I was basically just trying to get my music out there any way I could. I started talking to Wayne and told him about everything I was doing. He was very interested in it, so I asked him if he would like to hear some of my work. So I took him upstairs to my hotel room where I had my Pro-Tools and other equipment set up. He really liked what he heard and asked me what I was doing with it. I told him I was selling it, but right there, on the spot, he was like, “You need to stop selling this. This is really good. You need to keep this for yourself.” I still thought I wanted to be a dancer, so I was very surprised. He then asked me if I wanted to sign to Young Money and I of course said yes.

What has it been like working with Wayne?
It has been amazing. I started working with him on The Carter III, where I introduced him to producers Bangledesh (A Milli, 6’7’’) and Maestro (3 Peat). We basically just started to work together a lot. From there we really dove into that “pop-punk” world and began creating the album “Rebirth”. I wrote four songs for that album, obviously not Wayne’s parts. I wrote the single “Prom Queen”, “American Star”, “Runnin” and “I’m So Over You”. The song “Runnin” actually has a pretty funny story. I was really angry one night on tour and needed something to write to. The studio tour bus was luckily open, so I ventured inside. I began writing to this beat and the song was supposed to be for me. While I’m recording though, Wayne walked in and was like “What’s that? Play that again, lemme put somethin on it.” I of course was like “Okay.” After we recorded that, it kind of became his song (laughs) and wound up on “Rebirth”.

(WorldWide Exclusive) Drizzy Drake Drops The Video For “Headlines”

I really do like Drake but don’t you think that the fact that he was (maybe still is the way he goes on) soap actor gives him that theatrical overdramtic aura? I mean I know you all know what I am getting at, and in his latest video you see why I cannot contain my laughter. Different locations on set with the “this is the fast pace lifestyle we live in” brings a difference in connotations Headlines

Gotta love you some Drizzy!

Enjoy xx

*Hot Gossip* Drake wants to Leave Young Money to join…

I am not 100% sure how accurate this information is, however the guys at Media Take Out have the hook up when it comes to our favourite celebrities!

So Drake wants to leave Young Money for… you guessed it, the almighty Roc Nation. He performs with some of the artists on one of the hottest labels right now and when you read on, like me you may actually get it too…

Kisses to Media Take Out!

February 11, 2011. has been telling you for MONTHS that there is a growing RIFT between rapper Drake and Lil Wayne’s YOUNG MONEY.

Well now we EXCLUSIVELY found out what it’s all bout. According to a member of YOUNG MONEY, Drake would like to LEAVE the label . . . and join his friend J Cole over at Jay Z’s ROC NATION label.

The insider explained, “Drake likes making music with [Lil Wayne] and the rest, but he’s a different dude. There’s a lot of hood [ish] that goes down at Young Money, and Drake’s not a hood [dude], so he wants to be away from that.”’s insider goes on, “Drake’s mother is also worried . . . She doesn’t want him around gangs or drugs.”

And it gets better. learned that JAY Z is pulling strings – to try and but Drake’s contract from Bryan “Baby” Williams – Cash Money’s CEO. The insider explained, “[Jay] is playing hardball, he wants Drake and he’s not trying to pay too much for him. He’s moving in slowly. Right now he’s working [behind the scenes] on Drake’s tour. Under Drake’s current deal [with Cash Money], Drake owes them records, but not tours.”

Currently, Drake’s on tour with J COLE (A Roc Nation artist). Later this year, Lil Wayne will be going on tour with ALL of the Young Money Artists (Nicki Minaj, Bow Wow, etc) – Drake will NOT be going on tour with them.

I see Drake as a Roc Nation artist, especially if he wants to be around for a while, then I hope in the upcoming months we’ll have something new to sink out teeth into!

Rihanna gets NAKED for album cover & teams up with Drake “What’s My Name” (Offical “Cute” Video)

I like the vibe that Miss Rihrih and Drake bought over in this video- however the Fenty has just released her anticipated new album “LOUD” where we all know she is a fashion mogul in her own right, but I mean c’mon girl “You have fans UNDER 18 who like your music and you go for the naked approach”??

How does the saying go: “Sex sells”! At least the video visual to the infectious sing-a-long track “Whats My Name” brings the same thought back in a softer and natural way!

What do you think of the video? LOUD is out Now to buy (that way you can have a look-see on the sexy pics at your leisure!)

Enjoy xx

Diddy-Dirty Money Featuring Drake- “Loving You No More” (Hot Music Video!)

I loved this track when it was first released, and I’m glad Diddy did the video shoot. Wether him and Cassie are back together (rumor mill) or if they have split for good, as you begin to watch Diddy get emotional it had me wondering why leave the one that got you singing like this?

You go Cassie!

Enjoy the video too! xx

(JayOnce News!) Mr & Mrs Carter take nephew Julez to see The Nets, Jay reflects on past lyrics for “Decoded” & decides on full Album with Kanye! (Photo’s)

So as they took their court side seats alongside nephew Julez, JayOnce entered the Prudential Center to watch the New Jersey Nets take on the Detroit Pistons.

So this clearly shows no interest in having kids anytime soon… He could at least have sat in-between you guys at least! Jheez!

Still sweet though…

And in other Carter news…

As we all anticipate the release date for Jay’s “Decoded” memoirs, he has been reflecting over past lyrics and how he perceived women at that point in time.

Check out what Hov had to say:

While working on his new book, “Decoded” in which the lyrics to his songs are printed out and explained, Jay-Z admits he regrets his songs that didn’t present women…or his opinion of them…in the best light.

“Some [lyrics] become really profound when you see them in writing. Not ‘Big Pimpin.’ That’s the exception. It was like, I can’t believe I said that. And kept saying it. What kind of animal would say this sort of thing? Reading it is really harsh.”

The lyrics to that track mainly talked about him having women sexually available to him at all times, something he has abandoned since marrying Beyonce in 2008.

In an interview with the Wall Street Journal, Jay-Z said,

“We have to find our way back to true emotion. This is going to sound so sappy, but love is the only thing that stands the test of time. The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill was all about love. Andre 3000, The Love Below. Even N.W.A, at its core — that was about love for a neighborhood.”

I see his point.

He also said he’d like to hear more about the real challenges facing people today, like the housing crisis and unemployment. Remember the time before gangsta rap when Public Enemy was the CNN for black people? That’s what Jay’s talking about. And he cites hip-hop’s efforts to help Barack Obama elected as proof the community can help foster social change.

“Whether he does a great job or not is almost secondary to what it did for the dreams and the hopes of an entire race. Just based on that alone, it’s a success — the biggest we’ve had. … It’s Martin Luther King’s dream realized. Tangible. In the flesh. You can shake his hand.”

Cannot wait for that!

And so to wrap up our news for the week on the power couple, Kanye & Drake are on the heels of Jay for his lyrical vocals.

Speaking to MTV News Drake disclosed he would love to drop a radio track with Mr Carter:

Although Drake and Jay-Z have collaborated on Blueprint 3’s “We Off That”, “Thank Me Later” & “Light Up”, he still wants more from him!

“I probably wouldn’t title it ‘Light Up 2,’ but there could definitely be potential for a record where me and Jay just spit about life,” said Drake to MTV News, referencing the track from his debut album. “I look forward to making that. I don’t think I’m ready to do it yet, though. If me and Jay do another record … I just want it to be a song. I don’t necessarily want it to be a life/time marker. I would love to do a song with Jay that hits radio. I’d love to do something that’s more musical, as opposed to all that rapping.”

And as well as that the musical genius who created Blueprint 3 Mr Kanye West has also revealed him and his “big bro” are looking to roll out a full length album!

“We putting out a whole album now,” Kanye told MTV when asked about Watch The Throne. “We had done five [songs] so far, and then a few of ‘em, kind of, were out there, and I put them on my album. Sorry Jay. But we got some more, and we going to the south of France at the end of this month just to record new ideas.”

Looks like the Carter planner is full!

(New Music 2010!) Jamie Foxx featuring Drake “Fall For Your Type”

I know the song title in the headline got you thinking “Why is Jamie Foxx’s name all up in there”

Well I’ll tell you…

“Fall For Your Type” wasn’t actually for Drake. It turns out it was meant for Jamie Foxx!!

And FYI- Jamie kills this version, just for the simple fact that he CAN sing!

Jamie Foxx releases his fourth album, “Body” December 14th.

You will enjoy! xx

Rihanna “Only Girl (In The World)” Official Video & New Music “What’s My Name” featuring Drake

So now the video is here, I kinda get the reason why for the open fields and colourful outfits- doesn’t it seem to fit how she is feeling about boo Matt Kemp hence the title lol!

However with the anticipated track with Drake just being released “What’s My Name” I think they have put the record straight with were they stand.

You can catch the track on Rih’s upcoming album “Loud”, which is releasing soon!

Oh well Drizzy, looks like Miss Fenty is happy with her baseball love, and it doesn’t seem anytime soon that it’s going to change!

Let me know what you think of both, the lyrics in em both tell it all…

Enjoy xx
